About Dental Bridges
Laser Smile Studio in Denton, TX is proud to recommend dental bridges for the replacement of a few missing teeth. Board-certified dental physician, Dr. Todd McCracken, will place two dental crowns on either side of the gap caused by the patient's missing teeth. Then using the crowns as abutments, somewhat like the legs of a pedestrian bridge, the custom dental bridge will be created and installed to fill the gap. Bridges can be made of gold, metal, alloy or porcelain and are incredibly strong. In addition, the bridge will be customized to feel as natural as possible in the patient's mouth. Bridges will be custom made in our laboratory to match a mold which will be taken during your consultation, prior to the procedure.

What to Expect
To prepare the teeth for the bridge, Dr. McCracken will file down the abutment teeth to create enough room for the crown. Once the teeth are prepared, ourd dental team will take digital X-rays and impressions that will be sent to a dental laboratory where the permanent bridge is created. Dr. McCracken will cover the patient's teeth with temporary crowns for protection until the permanent bridge is ready. Once the bridge is created, Dr. McCracken will attach the bridge and adjust the fit for ideal comfort and appearance.
Treatment Aftercare
With proper home came and regular visits to Laser Smile Studio for professional cleanings and dental exams, dental bridges usually last 5 - 15 years or longer. A good home oral care routine includes proper brushing at least twice a day and flossing at least once a day. During future dental exams, Dr. McCracken will check the condition of your bridge and let you know when it is time for a replacement.
Insurance Coverage
If you have dental insurance, some or most of the cost of your dental bridge may be covered depending on your carrier and specific coverage. Our office will coordinate with your insurance to minimize your personal cost. We also accept many payment options and offer financing for our dental procedures.
