In most circumstances, Dr. McCracken will recommend an antibacterial mouthwash and over the counter pain relievers which will ease pain and help prevent infection during the healing process. Most patients report total healing about 4-8 weeks of the procedure, but until then, soft foods are recommended, to prevent gum irritation. It is important to maintain a proper oral hygiene routine during this time while being mindful of the treatment site.
